 Indoor Singles - Canadian/Provincial

Recent changes concerning the Canadian Qualifier to the World Indoor Championships.

  • All participants in the Canadian Qualifier (now known as Canadian Indoor Championship) must qualify through a Provincial Playdown.
  • All provinces will be allocated one position with an extra slot open to Ontario and immediate past champion.  If a province fails/declines to submit an entry then host province (BC) will attempt to fill in the vacancies through finishing position at the Provincial Playdowns.
  • There will be no wild card entries.
  • BC Playdown will be Sep 24-26 at Pacific Indoor LBC.

(jul 28/2010)

  • Attention All Bowlers entering Provincial Playdowns.  Remember to include your BowlsBC card # on the entry form. A date of birth is required for age sensitive events ie:juniors/seniors.  Entries cannot be approved unless this information is provided.  PS remember to bring your membership card to the event in case there is a problem.  Cards may be inspected prior to start of the events.
  • Congratulations to Bowls BC's Vincent Mai who achieved 3rd Place at the World Cup Indoor Bowls tourney in Australia.  He lost only one game (tie-breaker) in the round robin to #2 World ranking Austalian, Lief Selby.  Vince came up short again when he had to play the Australian again in the semi's.  Selby then lost to fellow Australian Anthony Kiebe in the finals.
  • Catherine (Marie) Taylor from North Van LBC did not have a good tourney.  She lost several of her round robin games in tie-breakers.  Undoubtfully she will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.
